What an epic kick off yesterday! Man Man x 2!, and Black Mountain in a church! and Lucky Bar...wow!..it looked like a sea of Rifflandabrau last night...amazing!

A few important updates to note,

1. See the TICKET INFO page for some breaking updates on admission and pricing for today.
2. The BBQ (Bands, Brau and Q!) kicks off at 3:00pm today at Lucky.
3. Final Fantasy is now at The Alix Goolden Hall (907 Pandora Ave.)
4. Rifflandabrau is the cure!

Welcome to Day 1 of Rifflandia! It's hard to believe, I know.... wow!

A few important updates to note,

1. All wristband exchanges will now take place at our main info tent outside The McPherson Box Office at Pandora and Government.

2. Tonight's show at the Royal Theatre has been moved to The Alix Goolden Hall, but you probably already knew that.

3. Stop by Habit for a special $2.00 "PRESS-LANDIA" French Press Coffee! Sweet!

Come out to Rifflandia afterparties at the Jelly Fish Lounge. Saturday DJ PLAN and GRADE A. Sunday DJ PLAN and DEGREE ONE. Cover is $1O dollars, but Rifflandia wristband holders receive a 2 for 1 admission!

The festival is nearly upon us and we're startin' to get really excited around here! One major development is that we've moved Friday and Saturday's shows from the Royal and McPherson to The Alix Goolden Hall (907 Pandora Ave.) The Goolden was our original theatre venue of choice for Rifflandia 6 months ago, but it wasn't available until two weeks ago, so we hope you all enjoy it! If you haven't bought your tix yet, you'd better do so!

Oh sure, you could spend your Labor Day weekend shoveling the summer's last gulp of potato salad down your gullet and pretending that golf and Frisbee have something to do with each other. You could relish in your temporary respite from the workforce and have a "staycation," which I believe is new slang for "watching TV." Or you could enter the magical realm of Rifflandia, full of mirth and merriment and three whole days' worth of music. Your call, but seriously, these are your only options.

Should you go with door #3 (good choice!), you'll want to make your way to downtown Victoria, British Columbia during the long weekend of August 29-31. There, for the price of a wristband, you'll be granted access to at least eight venues, each playing host to some fine, fine music. Populating the weird world of Rifflandia this time out are the likes of Man Man, the Walkmen, Black Mountain, Final Fantasy, Blitzen Trapper, DJ Z-Trip, Handsome Furs, Johnny & the Moon, You Say Party! We Say Die!, the Beatnuts, Howlin' Rain, Tim Finn (of Crowded House/Split Enz), Brother Ali, and others.

Sure, celebrating a day of rest at something called Rifflandia is a little silly, but it's not half as silly as the Martin Lawrence marathon at the centerpiece of your staycation.

Hello Everyone!

OUR FULL WEBSITE IS FINALLY LIVE!

First off, thanks for your patience over the last month. The process of finalizing our line up for the first year took a little longer than anticipated, but we’re really happy with where we’re at. It’s going to be an amazing weekend of music and fun!

Brandon and Jason (of Scum Creative Labs) have done a great job building this website to be as intuitive as possible, so hopefully you’ll all find the information you need, and fast! If you do encounter any bugs or glitches, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Now, on to the good stuff!

We’ve added a few more artists - Howlin’ Rain, 1900’s, Tanya Tagaq, Bison, Chet, Laura Smith and others… have a look at the Line Up page for details.

We’ve also added 2 more all ages shows to the weekend’s festivities, making for a total of 4 solid shows for those under 19. We’ve also gone as far as making single event tickets available for these 4 shows. See the Ticket Info page for details.

We’re also working on some really cool stuff for wristband holders over the weekend – stuff like discounts at some of your favorite shops and restaurants. Keep an eye on the Wristband page for details, which will be released as we confirm our partners.

Take some time and browse the site, read about some bands and start making your schedule. Oh… and go buy your wristband! Only 6 weeks to go!
